The Going To Hospital Book and supporting Makaton resources is something IT Matters is really proud to have been involved with. The book which is free to download has been shared nationally to support thousands of families. This was recognised at the 2021 Patient Safety Awards where the book was announced winner of the LD Initiative of the year.

In 2020 we were privileged to support the Chief Nursing Officer for NHS England Ruth May, at her CNO Summit in Birmingham. Amanda led a conference of over 600 Healthcare Professionals with a Makaton Session celebrating the Year of the Nurse and Midwife.

Providing transitional and communication support really matters to us. To make a difference we have supported Makaton training at GP’s surgeries, Heath Care Centres , Hospitals and various Universities

IT Matters has supported Positive Choices for the past 3 years , which have seen Makaton Guinness World Record attempts, Makaton Choirs and even a Makaton Friendly – We are indebted to our good friend Helen Laverty MBE for introducing us to this inspiring and amazing annual event!
